The Hermiston Orthopedic Clinic
is a 13,377 s.f. medical office combining elements of Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie style with those of a mountain cabin. Entering the office, one is greeted by a large canopy supported by rough-sawn beams supporting tongue and groove solid wood decking. Once inside, the decking and beams continue above as you approach the reception desk comprised of granite slabs floating on glass block walls. The surgery suite has a dedicated waiting room for family, a pre-operative room, an operating room for more intrusive ambulatory procedures and a smaller procedure room for less complex tasks. In addition, a recovery room permits the doctors to monitor their patients until they are deemed ready to go home. Other features this office includes are showers and lockers for staff, an x-ray room, self contained MRI machine, offices for the doctors, a staff exercise room, exam rooms, and rooms to permit applying casts to broken limbs. The basement acts as the office’s network hub as well as storage space with a dumbwaiter to move heavier items from floor to floor. In working with the client, a very warm and inviting atmosphere has been created for patients to be diagnosed and treated.
